April Is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, a time when we raise public awareness about sexual assault and educate individuals on how to prevent sexual violence and where to seek resources. You can stand with sexual assault survivors and raise awareness and funds by participating in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® (stay tuned for more info about our 2021 event!), participating in Denim Day on April 28, 2021, or making a gift. Thank you for supporting survivors during Sexual Assault Awareness Month!

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® 2021

Isolation can be devastating for victims of domestic violence. We know this first-hand because we have seen a steady increase in domestic violence-related calls to our Greater Charlotte Hope Line since the pandemic began in March 2020. Our clients need us more than ever now, and that's why we adapted our popular Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® 2020 into a virtual fund-raising event. Thank you to everyone in the Charlotte community who made last year's event an astounding success! Check back soon for more information about our 2021 event.

Denim Day 2021

Denim Day is a rape prevention education campaign that raises community awareness about the devastating impacts of sexual violence and how to prevent it. Show your support by participating on April 28, 2021. Email photos of you and your coworkers, employees, friends, and family wearing denim on April 28 to meredith.carter@safealliance.org. Or tag us on social media with #SafeAllianceCLT and we'll share your photos!
